Setting up the PhoneGap environment

If you haven’t prepared the tools, check “the tools we need in this course” section.

We will use Android to demo, so we are going to install the Android SDK.

Google comes with a bundle with the Eclipse and SDK together.

If you need to install the SDK manually with your existing Eclipse. Add the repo to Eclipse and you will be able to install it via Eclipse software management dialog.

The default PhoneGap example. Comes with a minimal www project showing how to get the device ready event handler. Which is useful to access device resources.
